Having discovered the outdoor swimming community during her 'Mermaiding' of the Thames in 2018, Lindsey Cole was invited to the Scottish cold-water swimming championships. At the time she was feeling lost and had no job so, on a whim, she chose to cycle there (from Bristol). On her epic journey she decided to visit all the open water swimming groups she could along the way, and take up every invitation she received, and this grew into a 1,000-mile journey, during which she met many brilliant people in the swimming community.
