Thomas Balmès writes and directs this documentary filmed in the Kingdom of Bhutan in South Asia. In 2008, Bhutan transitioned from an absolute monarchy to a democratic state and has since adopted all the trappings of modern life including mobile phones and the internet. The film follows a young boy from the remote village of Laya as he travels to the country's capital of Thimpu where he is confronted with this new way of life for the first time - highlighting the contrast between Bhutan's pastoral past and its metropolitan future.
